Significant die breaks always catch my eye.
And the early nickels have them in bunches.

 

Yep, I doubt that die made it through the day that nickel was struck. It was on its last leg!

 

I like finding die breaks, but have never ran across one as good as that. :thumb:

I personally don't like them, and think the bring the coin's beauty down, a notch
Although, they do make the coin look cool, and bring an extra premium on most occasions

thats awesome!!! i love die breaks, i think they add character to the coin and make it more unique.

 

Double struck on a quarter planchet with a DDO and rotated die would be nice. :eat:

 

Struck on a trime planchet would be more like it!

That coin is very interesting. Love the die breaks. It is also on ebay right now. To me it is overpriced, but still I like the die breaks on it.

 

I love all the character of this coin. It should have been the LAST coin to be struck with those dies. Instead of LDS it should be Last Die State.
