Anyone know what’s up with this ATB quarter?

Hi, ran across this Utah Arches ATB quarter while CRH and it’s got this yellow/golden tint to it. I thought at first it was one of those late night infomercial fake gold plated things, but it’s lighter in color and the tint doesn’t appear on the rim like it does on pics I’ve seen of those. Anybody know what’s up?

Welcome to the neighborhood @n00bismatic !

You have to keep in mind that your coin has been in circulation for about 5 years, and there are all kinds of people who have handled it. For all you know, someone may have found it while cleaning out their septic tank.

Really? Golden toned BU coins are considered damaged? Some times BU clad coins get some beautiful toning from age. And sometimes some very odd toning like the 'Flying Eye Ball' toning on this 1969 BU quarter. Meow bought it in a mint set, just to get the oddly toned quarter. Meow took it out of the cello so it hopefully wont change. WIN_20180725_11_22_57_Pro.jpg WIN_20180725_10_46_54_Pro.jpg WIN_20180725_10_45_48_Pro.jpg
