Thanks.... I certainly do not claim to have a great familiarity with the type, and while I of course see the difference (thickness), it strikes me as an artifact of wear/usage. Perhaps entire-coin photos would help, but I see no evidence of repunching unfortunately.
I'm as interested in the rim as the MM; looks like a broken collar but both examples manifest it. A perusal of a few others seems to indicate it's as-designed or at least a hub defect.
