I was wondering if anyone in here owns a coin shop that would be willing to sell me some items . My city doesn't have any and i am tired of buying at ebay getting ripped off. I don't have much money (ex. buying Graded coins ect or errors ect..) but i really want is wheat cents, proof sets, maybe some junk silver dates to fill in my folders. I've heard wheat cents cost about .2-4c?? i use to buy 1 roll of wheat for $8 and once for $11 and well you can pretty much see how i go..worse part was i got %85 of them were from the 50s lol (this was when i first started coin collecting though.) .I will be willing to pay my shipping costs. Also looking for a cheap $2 or $5 red seal!! obviously folded or w/e just to have it as a conversational starter :p

    - Thanks :)

Not to belittle Matt in any way, but you might also PM budgood. He has sold more than one bag of cents to members here.

I visited a coin shop in Virginia Beach, VA yesterday called "Candle Coins and Stamps" that had very fair and excellent pricing. I buy higher end coins usually so not sure if their wheats are a great deal but I loved the pricing on their morgans -- near dealer bid (!)

I suspect they would ship and not charge rip-off internet prices if you give them a call. Phone # should be on Google. Note I am not affiliated with this shop in any way just posting my experience.

I think you can get a bag from budgood less than that, but it is about correct. Also I am sure you could PM budgood or clembo and see what they might be able to do for you. Not sure how close to melt or if they have anything that might fit your needs.

If you're really into buying bulk wheat cents, it might be worth it to make a drive. Call around until you find a dealer in a bigger city that will sell you a bag of 5000 for around $250 or maybe even a half bag for $125. Most dealers buy at 2.5-3 cents and resell at 4-7 cents each. NEVER pay more than 7 cents and NEVER buy the over-priced crap on ebay. If you do buy on ebay, make sure your cost after postage is in the 4-7 cents range.

BadThad is right on the money about Wheats. I'd never pay 7 cents for wheats.

I'll vouch for all three dealers mentioned. I work for one and know the others are straight shooters. Actually bought a bag of wheats from Budgood and was not disappointed.
