The new 3.0 - version, works pretty good... Not that I had trouble with the last version...

You can add me as a friend on there, I'm on there as smullen, same as here...

I'm using it for one set---but I still have a few coins I need before it complete---I don't use it for the "ratings" but more for the fun of it with this set....as for the rating of my set...I'm at 115 out of 254 sets registered for that coin set....and I've still got a few to go ;)

I can't afford to use it to be Competitive...

I use it for fun, for ease of looking at what I got/Need when away from home and to show friends my collection...

As far as Scores... I have't even seen how mine compare... I'm afraid too...

I want to get a PDA sometime soon and if I do I might put more of my coin sets on the Registry so I can look up what coins I need at shows.

You know I never thought of that and I have a Palm Pilot that I use daily for work... I use the subnet calculator... Helps with natural boundries and inverse wildcard mask when writing ACLs...

I wonder what software I could put on it to list my coins....

    Nice...

Aint nuttin to laugh at or for you to be embarassed of, you got some cool coins in there... I'd gladly tak'em... :)

    I gotta question though..

I notice you got a lot of Nickel sets it seems like som overlap a bit....

    EX
    1938 - To Date
    1965 - To Date

Why not just do a 38 - To date, it will cover all those from 65 up????

    Same with the proofs...

Just curious as I am still learning stuff about this registry stuff...

Also, How'd you get the pics of your coins???

I got none of mine.. I need to get on that...

Thanks, Nice sets you have there Too!
Mostly just playing around with it. But if you will notice most of the top sets in each category is the same collector and the same coins. I am not competing for top spots, but if you have more coins say from 65 to date than 38 to 64 you can move higher in the ranking of that set.
You can upload Pictures to your sets, Some of mine are the sellers pictures of coins I bought off the Bay.

It'd be nice if they removed the mystery of how they assign points.

For instance I don't understand how two coins with the same population and same value and grade within the same series of coins can have different point values (one being twice the other!). This is just one of many reasons that I don't use it.

They've explained it several times on the NGC forum. Pretty sure you could look it up there ;)

I've read the explanation but it doesn't fit many of their point assignments. The next time I come across one I'll PM it to you so you can have a look. All of the TPG stuff is just so very subjective, in my opinion. I think the only advantage of TPG's is for the inexperienced collector and maybe for authentication. Everyone please note: THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY and I DO NOT WANT TO START YET ANOTHER TIRADE ABOUT TPGs - PRO AND CON.

I wouldn't argue with that. But those 2 things account for about 95% of all the coins that have been slabbed. And as long as that stays true, the TPG's are here to stay.

Boundries and Netmasks are part of Subnetting using CIDR (Classless InterDomain Routing)...

Its a kind of vodoo, where you Break up (subnet) bigger Blocks of IP addressses and or Aggragate(Supernet) IP Blocks together to make a bigger block, by changing the bit value of the Subnet mask....

For examplle, looking at the network address of

10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 or /24 we know the block range starts at 10.0.0.0 and goes to 10.0.0.255

now same block but change the Subnetmask /Cidr designation

10.0.0.0 255.255.255.252 /30 we know the block range starts at 10.0.0.0 and goes to 10.0.0.3

If you guys are really interested, here are a few links to more indepth info...

    http://public.pacbell.net/dedicated/cidr.html

    http://www.petri.co.il/what's_cidr.htm

I can with more if needed.. :)

I dabble in this at work most days... I have a large repository of address space and I dole them out for our network devices, the Business networls be build and maintain and to the residential internet customers...

Everyone talking or using the internet and every server on the net has to have atleast one IP or some sort, Public or Private...
