a poor attempt at a fake, but without a denomination, I think Green/Ken got it correct

Longnine aced it, clearly a spiel-marke, not intended as a fake or counterfeit. The German translation is more or less "game counter." In French, and correct me if I'm wrong, the word is jeton, but it doesn't mean quite the same thing.

I thought I could provide you with die numbers, rarity, and value by looking up your spiel-marke in my set of Fauver's references on gaming counters. While there are some $1 (gold) counters that are 16mm, and have a Liberty head with the 1893 date, paired with a reverse eagle die with 3 dots at the bottom, the dies shown were not exact matches. Hence, I can not tell you anything new other than both of the similar pieces were valued in 1990 at $6.25 in F, $11.00 in VF, and $20 in XF. Your piece however, having been holed and plugged, will have a lower value than those without damage. Sorry I could not have been of more assistance.
