I like the look of this bust.... I have never seen any but the usual most common type like on my 'VICT PART MAX' AR Denarius, as shown below... this one appears to have him wearing an Aegis, or at least something..... this coin ends soon, I am interested in buying it if the price is right, what does everyone think? and is anyone familiar with this, or any other bust types of Septimius Severus AR Denarii? aside from the style as used on my "VICT PART MAX" Denarius? I would love to see pictures if anyone has any different bust types..... and I do not mean busts from a different mint or something like that that are slightly different, I am talking like draped busts.... aegis busts, ones like the first photo below, the CONCORDIA AUG Denarius.... ones that are not just a head.....
I thought it looked a litle off.... I don't see the cuirass you speak of.... it looks alot like the busts of Nero on some of his Alexandria Tetradrachmai where he is wearing an Aegis with the head of a snake going up his neck..... it reminds me of that, especially the back part of the lower bust, right below the laureate ties.
I disagree with 'cast fake'. The coin is a fake of the Slavei group but was struck from dies. In addition to being a bit off in style, the flan is a bit thin. It is included in this photo from my fakes page (all are struck fakes by Slavei).
