I got this counter-stamped 1858 Flying Eagle Cent as part of a lot. Has anyone seen this counter stamp or know anything about it? I can't find anything about it except at exonumia.com they list it as a counter stamp.

There are a number of "Clark" counterstamps in the references but none that I know of with all the numbers on it. Unfortunately, Clark is such a common name that there's almost no chance of attributing this to a specific person.I believe I saw this coin on eBay recently, or at least one similar to it. Did you get it from an eBay auction?

I know exonumia.com lists a number of "Clarks". This one is D. Clark which is listed there.
