I purchased a Gordian III Sestertius from Numismatik-Naumann via vcoins.com on the 15th of April but the dealer still hasn't shipped my order yet, they also haven't replied to my messages either. Anyone know this dealer or what I should do? Thanks.
I have purchased several coins from Naumann at auction. they've been around for quite a while. They have always shipped promptly for me. Other CT members have posted issues with Naumann recently, but I've never had a problem that I had to inquire about, so I can't testify as to their communications.
They have to get an export license before mailing anything. They shipped my coins late last week by DHL.
They are reliable in shipping just as @Roman Collector said they have to get export license, they shipped my last order last week by DHL. I expect mid this week.
They are wonderful. You can chilax. Like you I'm just awaiting the export license from that auction... Here's one of my winnings:
Oh interesting, other purchases shipped from France and Germany were shipped promptly but from Austria it could be different.
3-4 weeks assuming you’re in the US from time of purchase before your package arrives. That’s been my experience from auction wins. Worth the wait!
I've bought many coins from Naumann. As RC and others said, the delay is due to the time it takes to get the export license in order. Worth the wait. I'm very happy with all of my Naumann purchases and interactions.
There's always some fun buying coins from Europe, one of these days I will go to Europe myself and do some metal detecting....
I’ll echo what others have said - I’ve only bought from them once, but no problem getting the coins, just a long wait for the export license
If I recall, the export license from Austria->US took 3-4 weeks. Shipping was quick at < 1 week. So far, Austria is the only country I've run into with this. I've ordered other coins from Germany, the UK, and France, and those shipped immediately. FedEx is my preferred method, since it only takes a few days. I think Naumann used DHL, but that still arrived quickly. Normal post from Europe has been taking about a month.
Hi @kirispupis, I’ve had coins from Israel take about that long too. The reputable dealers need export licenses. - Broucheion
