I mean I understand things get damaged in the mail occasionally, but every month my magazine arrives looking like below. I have three other frequent magazine subscriptions and none of them ever show up damaged like this it's only The Numismatist and it's every month.
Apparently, there are a few coin collectors along your mail delivery route - publisher to home address. Complain to your local postmaster. Chris
Remember the anti-dentite episode of Seinfeld? Maybe you have an anti-numistite on your postal route!
That's why I like my Coin World coming in a plastic bag, never had an issue ( pun intended ) with it so far.
Yeah I also get Coin World including the weekly (non bagged versions) and it's never damaged. Along with ESPN mag which is bi weekly and my wife's stuff. Strangely it's always only The Numismatist that has this damage and while I do also get the digital issue I generally prefer reading the printed version.
No, mine arrives pristine (knock wood). However, it's a small circulation magazine so it doesn't arrive at the local PO in a big pre-sorted tub like some of them do. So I would complain to the postmaster, realizing the problem is probably upstream of the local PO.
Call me old school, but I much rather have the print version. Take it anywhere I want anytime. I have way to many of the once a month digital of Numismatic News archived and never have the time to look at.
Mine usually comes in OK condition........the carrier probably doesn't know what it is. Too long a word to 'sound' out, and on an subject far removed from national mainstream. No home invasion yet, but if there is, I'll be waiting for the bugger (s).
Totally agree. I never read the archives of NN, even thought I download them. I was really annoyed when they went to the digital version. I had just renewed my subscription for three years (at 52 issues a year) the month before they announced that. My subscription was not extended but I only got 36 issues a year. That was an increase in price of 44% per issue! As for the Numismatist I have never had a problem. But Numismatic News and World Coin News frequently come with a damaged cover.
