is anyone else noticing an increase in the number of SBA dollars in rolls. for example, i used to get about 3 per roll on average. last friday i got $100 in dollars, and found 38 total. tuesday i got another $100 at a different bank, and found 43. today i got $150 at the first bank, and found 96 SBA dollars! most of them were BU 1979-S. does anyone know if there has been a large number released, or if it is just banks in my area, or if someone has just been depositing a bunch at these 2 banks?
I do the 'where's george' thing and the dollar bills that are so worn they are not worth the effort go into the vending machines at work - then I hit coin return. It keeps the bills and spits out dollar coins. I'd say about 20% are SBAs, almost all 1979. I'm keeping them for now, although I don't know why. I used to think they were ugly, but they're artwork compared to the 'golden dollars'.
