I'm sure I'm not the only one that keeps detailed accounts of what they find. I'm just curious about how others are doing with their searches.

For example, in my latest box of cents I found 8 Wheaties, 367 copper Memorial cents, 1243 zinc memorial cents and 883 shield cents.
The number of copper cents is down a bit from the last time I searched cents (about a year ago). And I was wondering if anyone else has records from older searches

I just keep records of number of wheats and what years, I'm sure a lot of people keep numbers on copper though, I always hear of people hoarding coppers

I don't do it with my coin finds but I do it with my detector finds in the form of photos. Each separate dig's photos in it's own folder and dated.

I'm going to start. At the moment I don't really have time to search but I do have plenty of time to stop in at a bank during my travels and get a box of pennies. I want to keep track of where I got them, what I found, etc. Seems to be very interesting to me even if the information isn't useful to anyone else.

It can be useful to others, if they're pondering whether the hobby is worth it to them or not, to see the success rate of others

I used to do this all the time on hand-typed pages with lists of all coins found and the dates of the finds. I still have these sheets from many, many years ago. Brings back many good memories of days gone by.

I did from 2011 until earlier this summer, just got too time consuming. I only keep records now for significant finds, like tonight's box of cents will take a page entry with all the 90-105 year old cents I found in the box.

there was a fellow on here a couple of years back who was gathering data from several CRH hunters here on CT. He had a Excel spread sheet that he gave folks. I have a copy I could send you and anyone else who would like one. It has my data from the boxes I searched at that time. but you can delete the data or just add on in a new section. PM me if you want a copy
Update - I cleaned up a copy if you like. It also has a couple of lines I added at the botem. Basically coveres 39-59 with a box for buf's and a box for V's I added one for 09 and foreign
Let me know, its free. You have to have MS Excel to run it.

I track mine, and usually update my totals monthly... but I'm running behind a little - haven't totaled July up yet.

PM your email address to me and I will send it to you. I don't know how to attach it to a PM, or if that is even possible
