Honestly, for the money ($40) it is one bad boy little tool. It will be useful for varieties and VAMS. I just got it and beating my head against the wall trying to link it to my laptop to save and catalog coins to my hard drive, also to share here under high magnification. I'll have to say they are a lot scarier under high mag, including TPG gem grades. lol

Also don't understand why it didn't come with a higher stand so you can get a full image of a coin under lower magnification. Any tips out there? I'm still learning how to use it and I'm an old with somewhat limited tech limitations.

    Two things to try.
Power the laptop down and unplug the scope.
Power the laptop back up and wait for it to fully load.
Plug the scope into a USB port. The system should see the new device and load the drivers that are needed. The new device should now show in devices and printers.

    Second thing to try.
Power the laptop down and plug the scope in.
    Power the laptop back up.
When the system boots it should see the new device and load the proper drivers if those drivers are already on the system.

If the scope came with software you may have to install it. Sometimes the system may already run the new device without the new software.

Sometimes you can put the stand on a box of some size to take full images. You just have to try it to see if the scope can still focus on the coin.

I'll try the things you mentioned in the first post. Thanks. I already thought about stacking the stand on some large old phonebooks and rotating the scope to the other side, it's just a pain.

Success! Thanks. I still haven't figured out to view real time on my laptop my images in full screen but the saved images on the card in the scope will transfer to my laptop easily and can be viewed full screen.
