I didn't get that email. Just up your alley, Tim. Maybe the opportunity of a lifetime. They pay you to learn and travel? You haven't signed up yet?
Thanks for posting, too bad I'll be 1 year too young by the sign up date. But definitely something to look into in the future.
There's only one thing that beats free education . . . getting paid while you learn. Especially in times like these, when it's an employer's market. If I was of age, they'd already have an emailed scan of my completed application and a followup phone call, and, and, and . . .
dude, ya got what ya wished for. go through this door of opportunity, or pass by. its your choice. but remember. this door is closing. and may never open again.
Tim, you should be doing everything possible to find out if it's legit and to sign up if it is. It's a chance at your dream job AND they'll pay you to learn it. It's like winning the lottery.
If it was listed in the last issue of the Numismatist then approximately 30,000 people received the letter in the mail.
Prolly ended up in the dust bin of my Russian email server somewhere. Dermo! That or Snowden is peaky pooing in my email now that he is in Russia.
Since you got it, only the elite of the elite I am sure. All kidding aside, just fill it out honestly (not like the pawn shop application - don't pretend to be something you're not), send it in, and hope for the best. Surely you would have to leave Galesburg and the comforts of home, but hey... no pain no gain.
just remember, they will be looking for honesty. How are you going to explain why you are still only paying for the "Youth" membership to the ANA?
