Has anybody seen or heard of any 2009 $10 stars? I check eBay frequently because things seem to show up quicker on there but I haven't seen any yet. Why I have a thread going, I might as well also ask the same about the 2006A $100 stars Richmond. I'm pretty sure that if that is going to be the only low 320k run of '06A $100's, they will carry huge premiums in the future. -Travis
Nope, not yet. The only series '09 star that I've personally come across, is my $1 NY note. It is possible that these notes may not have entered circulation yet, as it can take a little while for notes to enter the pipeline, once printed. Then again, I got an '09 NY $50 from my bank back at the end of May, and it was printed in March of this year, which I thought was pretty quick. It may be that the Fed just hasn't released all of the series '09 notes recorded as printed (and '06A $100's) into circ yet, and will do so, as the need arises.
Per this website that I use, they only produced JB and JD $10 stars in Sept and Oct of this year. It may take a bit for them to get circulated. http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2009_d.html
Actually, by the looks of that chart, those stars were printed in Sept and Oct of last year, so those notes have been around for a year, now. That is quite a bit of time to go by, before notes reach circulation.
Sooooo... It's really taking the Federal Reserve a year to get these into circulation?? Wow. I always figured it takes like 3 months from date of printing tops.
Who knows? I mean, they could already be in circulation, they just haven't popped up yet. It was purely speculation on my part, that the fed hasn't yet released them Heck, I'm still trying to find an '09 $5. I have yet to see one of those in person. I know that they're out there, I just haven't seen any yet.
Correct me if Im wrong, but release also depends on how banks are ordering them. $10s are not used as often so might take a while. Plus they may still be burning through skids of 2006 series. Just for comparison I came across a few 2009 $1 LJ blocks in mid March before they we even listed in the BEP site, so it must have been a couple of weeks just after they were printed. I guess $1 are higher demand.
+1 nm1560. It's very dependent on the banks ordering new straps from the FED. Then you have to add in the luck factor to get one of those.
Hmmm... Well when any of you happen to get a 2009 $10 star, you'll all know where to come post it if you want. I'd like to see one.
I might decide to see if I can get some from my usual sources. I finished the 2009 $1 district set and might go on to the $5 and $10 sets next. I can let anyone know the prices if interested.
