Anybody know about these tokens?

    Picked these 2 up for $10 each at the Baltimore show. I just liked them. The Bank of Canada one is bigger than a large cent... almost as large as a silver dollar... sort of in between the two. The bearded dude who likes beer - that one is about the size of a U.S. modern quarter. Thanks for your help!

    The second one is a Civil War token, a storecard type from a New York merchant. It was Lindenmullers refusal to redeem his tokens that have been taken in trade by the local railway that lead to the legislation outlawing the tokens..

    Wow, neat! Is it very rare? Worth more than the $10 I paid?

    No it's actually very common, Lidenmuller made a BUNCH of those tokens (hence why the railway got stuck with so many of them.) But it has the story behind it whch makes it interesting. $10 seems like a very fair price for that token.

    The id number for your Civil War token is NY630AQ-4a, which has an R1 rarity (common) indicating that there are more than 5000 known to exist.
