Grandma gave this to me, it came from her brother when he was in the war. I don't know exactly where it came from. I also have a 1977 FRN that is extremely faded but the rev. is the same color of orange.

Cool Note - That was a nice gift, if my grandparents had ever given me something like that the sentimental value would be priceless!

    Thanks for sharing!

cool note! The FRN could either be african occupational currency, or a gold certificate. But since u said it was frn, i would think its part of the african campaign... could you post pics?

During my time in the Phillipines (US MArine Corps) I found some nice War artifacts in the jungles...this was back in 1973..Wow, I am getting old.
Brought them back and gave then to family years ago...wish I had em back now....

Here is the FRN, it's in horrible shape and I think it was washed. I won it in a poker game in 1981 and just kept it because of the orange rev. Thanks for the info

I've never seen a genuine note with no serial number before. The green ink used for the seal and serial number must be more susceptible to the bleach than the rest of the note.

pretty neat 1977A note, but raggy. i'm sure that would go for some $ if you put it on ebay as a conversation piece, not a real error.:D
