I'm wondering if there are any US red gold coins. That is, 75% gold and 25% copper balance (18kt gold mixed with copper). I like the color or "tone"... it's technically less "bling" than 24kt gold, but I prefer how red gold looks. Anyway, where are the red gold coins? Any notable ones from around the world? I know the Krugerrand has copper in it but it's about 91% gold, so it's not that rich red color. There are some Sovereigns but that's in 22kt. Thanks in advance!
Beyond normal us coinage, no, maybe some private tokens. Even the earliest American gold coinage was 90-91%. The majority of world gold is over 90% pure as well. Most of the UK gold has been .9167 fine since the 1600's.
Israel has some very pretty rose gold coins. I have one and extremely low mintage's , I'm talking like 1935 minted. A 1990 5 sheq. from the holy land series. It's has the sea of Galilee on one side ,and for the life of me I can't recall the obv. side image. It's 10 sided too pretty cool shape, But next to the Rands these have great color.
