I just received another notification from Vcoins about a new dealer being added to the site, this is the second in the past few weeks. Any thoughts? I know there was some discussion a few months ago a some of the more recently about the reputation/quality of the more recently added figures.
Care to tell us who it is? For whatever reason, I got no such notification. Edit: never mind, I found him - Emporium Hamburg, yes? Pricey is right, but you shouldn't be collecting coins if you're afraid to offer dealers what you think is fair.
Most of the time I always make an offer, especially when its old stock for them, but when a common gordian III Ant. is $120, and a better example on ebay sells for $34, then that is a problem & you know you cant offer even $50.
Emporium Hamburg is right, it piqued my interest because they also added Ganga Numismatics just a week ago. So far I haven't taken a look, but I would keep in mind that the European market is much pricier (more to the scale of U.S. coins here in The States).
I check new listings multiple times a day. But I do have my few dealers I buy from on a regular basis and rarely to I get something from the "higher priced" dealers, if I do, its cause it is a rare type or something I really wanted & the price was right.
Didn't even notice new sellers on Vcoins. I usually search for coins that I like, but I see the seller's coins. They are a bit pricey and plus its in another country which makes me check for domestic sellers first.
Sadly, I usually get stung with border-tariffs when the coins come from Germany (ummm, I'm assuming that Emporium Hamburg is from Germany?) ... ... anyway ... I'm not a judger, so I'll take a peek (it seems like most dealers have good and bad deals ... that's what bargain-shopping is all about, right?)
Indeed, I have three or four coin projects going right now. I've also been doing a ton of theater and have attended several dances recently. Oh, and I made chocolate too!
I buy a lot from vcoins, just got to watch for deals and make offers some will, others don't, see ya!!
sorry dawg, with all of the new dudes on this site I didn't even notice you slink back into the fold ("Hi vlaha") ... TIF is obviously a far better coin-friend than I am!! ... anyway ... Chocolate?!! ... dancing around and making chocolate (gawd, where do I sign up?!!) => it's awesome to have you back, my young coin-friend (I hope life-things are cool) Cheers
Yea, thanks Steve! I'll probably be popping in and out for the next few months, I'm still really busy! The biggest reason I haven't been around is because I haven't bought any ancients in months (exhibits are expensive ), but around April or so my collection should be back on track.
