Coin Roll Hunting: What are the best rolls? Ive heard alot of controversy about all the people talking about different coin rolls, Im talking about penny, nickel, dime or quarter rolls. Can anyone give me a suggestion of which are the best rolls, and which have the rarest coins?
+1 I haven't seen any boxes be better than any others really. It seems to go in streaks with all of them having good boxes and bad
For cents I would think customer wrapped rolls would be best. You might get shorted in these. If this is a concern then bank wrapped rolls would be better.
Rolls are cool, but tellers that go through them on their own and then sell you their finds for face value are far better.
really, if you think about it, your question is a contradiction. you want a lot of something that is rare. By definition, there will not be a lot of rare coins in any rolls. So it would follow, that you want to ask "what are the worst rolls" as it would be the most rare find? OK enough head games. There really is no good answer to your question. Search what you like searching. What would get you the most excited? A Walker Half, a 1909 cent, a lowest mintage dime, or just looking for silver? Follow your own lead and you will have fun.
See my post in the CRH thread - yesterday a young, attractive blonde handed me 11 early wheats that she found while roll searching during a slow afternoon in the credit union. Actually I tried to talk her into keeping them - even offering her a Whitman folder. Maybe in the future.
