Any Significance to this 1941 Penny w/ removed mint mark?

    You mean 1944, don't you? There is no way of knowing if the mintmark was removed or not.

    It is a very strange post.

    Thread title says 1941
    First Gallery image says 1942 but is a pic of 1944 Cent
    Second Gallery image says 1941 but is a pic of 1944 Cent

    I checked the OP's profile and it says he's 24 years old, so low probability of dementia causing this. So, just WHY the discrepancies in the dates? Dates and MintMarks are of absolute importance in discussions such as these, so what's the deal?

    Is this a symptom of some sort of multitasking error? If so, then all I can say is SLOW DOWN and get it right. If something else, please explain.

    Looks like a corrosion spot where the mint mark would be. Most likely not a removed mint mark. The only reason someone would want to remove the mint mark on a 1944 cent is to practice ways removing it on a 1922 cent.
