I got a couple of coins that the seller says are ancient Egyptian. I trust the seller, the coins were cheap, and I wanted them for my OFEC collection. One is attributed to Ptolemais II, the other to Ptolemais VI. Any other info on these?

There was only one known ancient egyptian coin. The coins you have are Ptolemic, who were ancestors of Ptolemy, general of Alexander and Greek. Their dynasty was centered on Egypt, with the capital of Alexandria. The last ruler was Cleopatra VII, (the famous one).

http://www.houseofptolemy.org/housenum.htm has a listing of sites covering them.
