Any quarter roll searchers out there?

    Hello,
First off, I've searched a ton of threads out here, and I tried to revive a couple of old threads with little luck. I tried the "post your results" thread too, with no meaningful comments, so I'll post this here and hopefully not cause any grief to the admins for multiple posts.

I'm needing some feedback from quarter lovers about what you look for in circulated rolls. Here's what I'm currently doing. Does this sound good? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    1) Checking for obvioius minting issues like planchet errors, off-center strikes, rotated die, etc.
    2) Look for any quarters 1964 and older for silver content
    3) Check any 1989s for missing mint mark
    4) Look for the following state quarter issues
Wisconsin - High Leaf and Low Leaf Cornstalk error
Kansas - Bison hump and die gouge
    Minnesota - Extra Tree error
Delaware - First Stat, die crack
Arizona - Extra cactus/leaf near date , doubled motto
    5) I check all state quarters for obvious stuff, but the 5 above seem to be more noteable.

I'd appreciate any feedback. If you think searching quarters is ill-advised, please let me know why. I understand that they are highly circulated. I will admit that the ease of moving these in and out of banks is part of the appeal for me. You just don't get grief from tellers when you deposit quarters.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I search quarters on occasion but I concentrate on mid to late 60's and early 70's and don't really bother with the state quarters.

In 1969-1972, the San Francisco mint produced the Type B Reverse for the Washington Proofs. Some of those dies ended up at the denver Facility and finding a Type B Reverse on on of those 4 years would be a definite SCORE!

I also check for the 1970-D DDO coin as well as any other DDO coins.

Although searching for silver can be fund, don;t let any well preserved coins from the mid-late 60's, 70's or 80's escape your grasp since these will be the rarities of the future.

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep that in mind. I've only found one nice older quarter in $250 worth of searching. It's an 82 at AU 50 or so. It's really clean.
