My digital camera doesn't take close-ups of my coins and I'm creating a digital record of my collection. Has anyone used the QX5 or earlier versions for coin photography and can tell me if it is a good tool?
digital camera Yes, I have heard of this product and I want one also. A member named Stujoe has one and he can tell you more about it.
I'm looking at getting one of these intel microscopes too. I've read mixed reviews on the QX5. The "one" to get is the QX3+ (note the plus, its different than the plain QX3). I've read a ton of reviews where QX5 users sold their new one and went back to their QX3+.
I was told it is not good for taking close-ups of the WHOLE coin. They are good for taking close-ups of doubling on letters or any other error you would want to get a really close picture of. You will still need a digital camera with the macro lens to get good close pictures of the entire coin.
Thanks ! ! ! ! Thanks all for the good information. I didn't want to go out and get one without a couple of opinions under my belt. Sounds like it might not be the best purchase for the documentation but may work better for the error coins I have collected. Thanks again you old coin dogs!
