Any opinion/experience buying coins on JesusVico Auction House? http://www.jesusvico.es/index.aspx?page=Menu&lenguaje=1 Thank ye in advance!
I recently had a great transaction with Vico. There was a four week delay shipping due to Spanish export rules. This was my first experience with the firm. I hope to have many more.
I have bid in four or five of their auctions, but have yet to win anything. I will bid there again. They are well respected dealers in Spain. As always, do some research on whatever it is your after.
Yes, I have dealt with them. No problems at all. I was quite pleased with the smoothness of the transactions.
I have bid in several auctions by Spanish companies and have had no problems. I would note that the starting prices are low. You may be lucky and buy one near the start, but most of my coins went well over minimum. This cast bronze piece sold at the starting bid. Aes Formatum. Siglos VI-IV a.C. ITALIA CENTRAL o LAZIO. 8,43 grs. AE. Ø 25x16 mm. Elemento en forma ovalada. Pátina verde. MBC+. It is a seed shaped piece of bronze. It could have been pre-money, metal for use as a votive, art work, or something else.
I have won lots from all five Spanish auction houses, all experiences were excellent. Jesus Vico has really nice Visigothic coinage. I won a 1808-Mo Mexico City/ Mexico/ AV 8 Escudos/ Fernando VII SC (uncirculated) from Herrero Auction. The coin arrived in mail two weeks ago, much nicer then auction photo! Cayon/ Calico/Marti/ Herrero/Vico are all highly recommended.
