I got some rolls 50 ct coins at the casino cashier (one by one) for each face value USD 10,00! The 1st contained a 40% coin. That was all out of 7 rolls, but I was there for holiday and not to spend time on CRH. I managed to give back the coins at an other casino or just spent them. I also saw some silver 50 ct at a game table at the SLS but did not play and was afraid to ask to get them. I had no success at pawn shops and did not find a cheap source to buy junk silver coins. I also like to ask for 2 Dollar bills, you will get them at the Mirage.
I live in Florida, almost 60 years, but sure would like to move to Vegas. Florida has gotten to congested, and it seems like it get hotter every year. Plus I won't have to drive to Hard Rock in Tampa.
If you think it doesn't get hot in Vegas, you're sorely mistaken. I've been there when it was so hot that coins actually melted into the asphalt. Chris
Make friends with cage cashiers. They handle far more cash and coin than any bank teller. Most of them know what to looks for as well. A lot of silver enters the cage and nearly all of it will leave in the hands of the cashiers. They are still pulling a decent amount of 40% and 90% halves, so they are certainly still out there. Banks will typically not have rolled halves on hand, but they can get them. The casinos need them for table payouts so they are staged at the local vault centers.
