Thanks for tagging me, Jwt. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about currency from NORTH Korea. I specialize in SOUTH Korean coins.

From a look at a chapter on DPRK banknotes in one of my rare books on South Korean currency, I believe your notes may be a 1988 series of "pink" notes issued to foreign visitors from capitalist countries. The Pick numbers are P-36, P-37, and P-38 in ascending denomination order.

You would need to verify this info with someone who has better knowledge of these things than myself. I am not aware of a DPRK note collector here at CT. Value-wise, well, I'm sure they're just curios, at best.

Well, born and raised in South Korea myself before getting naturalized U.S citizen in the 90s. At first, they were interesting for me too. After all, I knew nothing of what the world's most isolated country was using for its money, and I was pleasantly surprised to see them and getting them as my collection when I first started the hobby.

If you are wondering about their worth, however, unfortunately, they are pretty much worthless. If you search around E-bay, or other auctions, or any dealers, you can find them easy, and at dirt cheap price. They worth pretty much nothing. If you are into higher valued notes, you are better off going with South Korean, which are far more expensive and valuable. But, it's up to you.

    Just my 2 cents.

Interesting read. Never knew the actual size of the note got larger with the denomination.
