According to the US coin book MS is ranging $3.00 and up, if its doubled died $100.00 and up, that's retail!!!
This is a classic reprocessed replated 1943-D cent. It is not a BU. "Real" BU 1943 cents don't look like this. They are "frostier" than this piece. Also, a "real" 1943 cent will show the steel on the edge, and NOT be covered by the zinc plating.
If i were to cut this cent ,the one pictured,,,should i see the plated layer and a steel colored core?
They are both silver-colored, so it would be hard to see the difference. I think this one has just been polished with car wax and not re-galvanized. Just polished steel.
You don't even have to cut the coin to see the steel core in a unprocessed cent, only in the unprocessed 43 cent does the core show. In a reprocessed cent, the edge is zinc plated as well as the surfaces. Jim
Im asking this because the one i cut in half had a bronze color all the way through,,,,should be no color ina 43 cent right?
What exactly are you trying to achieve here? It seems to me that you've already been provided with sufficient answers, especially if you stop to think about what's been said.
Ok,,,,a 43 cent is cut in half what color should the inner halves or the core be,,,,that is my question,,,,,im sorry am i not trying to be difficult here, im thinking i may have misidentified the color of steel
