i know i can find out from ngc but they were already closed tonight so i thought maybe someone here might know , if anyone knows pls what is the cost per coin on bulk submission of 100 or more presidential 2007 george washington smooth edge error also has anyone ever heard that if you place coins in paper ,it will cause them to tone and is this a bad thing ? thanx everyone
Can't swear to it, but I don't think you can do bulk submissions for errors. Yes it will cause them to tone. Is it a bad thing ? It can be - it can also be a good thing. It depends on how the toning turns out.
Call NGC in the AM on your first question. I think you'll get a significant discount on the smoothies, but I'm not sure. I prefer to not comment on the second, other than to say that paper often does tone coins...Mike
Thanks guys for the reply and if you know how long would it take for a coin in paper to tone as i did put some presidential smooth edge coins in an envelope to keep safe because i ran out of 2x2's
re: BULK SUBMISSION Lets us know if you could what you end up paying per coin to have them graded. Also I would be careful with the way you store these because from the research I did these are brass or maganese coated which is different than most coins out there so the way these presidential dollars react to certain conditions is more contingent upon how brass or maganese typically reacts to certain conditions. I have mine in hard flips and so far no problems, besides a few that now have carbon spots that were never there before.
I'd be more worried about the paper being abrasive to the coins...they'll mark up faster than they will tone, IMO.
sry i am new so when you say hard flip are you talking about 2x2's and what about keeping presidential in airtites do you think that would keep them better and could you elaborate on the conditions that would hurt these coins ? thank you for that info I love this site, I have learned so much and everyone is so nice and willing to help one another ......
Bulk Submission Update ok I spoke to ngc today about bulk submission of 2007 presidential smooth edge and was told that they do NOT except bulk orders from anyone except dealers and the cost to grade the presidential smooth edge is 12.50 per , the person i spoke with informed me that if you could get 4 dealers to confirm they have been buying and selling with you for at least a year then you could submit form to ngc to obtain dealer status ,but i di not ask this and if anyone knows pls share the info ..to submit a bulk order using a dealers account would someone be able to just mail in the bulk order themselves under the dealers account ,or would the dealer have to actually submit coin's and has anyone evr done this , what was the cost ??:headbang::headbang::headbang:
The $12.50 rate you were quoted is the standard Modern Tier rate for any modern coin dated 1955-present. The bulk rate is different. The grading cost actually depends on the final grade assigned. If all you want is them in "BU" slabs, the cost is $8. If you want them graded, those that grade: MS65 are $10 MS66 are $12 MS67 are $15 If you want you can request that they not slab those coins that grade below a certain grade. The highest grade you can currently request is MS65. Therefore, if you selected MS65 as the minimum grade, you would not pay for the grading fee for those that they graded MS64 or below. Obviously, these lower grade coins would not get slabbed. Technically, I guess a dealer could just send you a submission invoice with their information on it and you could send the coins to NGC. However, since it has information on it like the dealers credit card number, I suspect you won't be finding too many dealers willing to do this for you. Also, there are certain submission requirements for bulk submissions that need to be followed and I'm sure the dealer who would be "submitting" them would want to confirm that these guidelines were followed so they don't get yelled at by NGC. If you would like and are willing to ship the coins to me, I'll submit the coins for you. I'm an authorized NGC dealer. While I don't post here very much, there are some forum members that I'm sure can vouch for me. PM me if interested in discussing details.
