Any ideas what this is?

You guys always deliver so thought I'd try. Found this on the shore of Lake Michigan near the site of an old Catholic church. I see no writing or numbers on either side. Religious symbol? Old toy steering wheel? Some kind of coin or token? Any clues appreciated. Whit
