Ok guys I have a world coin I can not identify. I have most of my 200 coin collection done but now I am down to two not known. This one is from probably Russia. it says 50 Koneek on it so I believe it is a 50 Kopeks coin from Russia. the other side has the Russian symbol with a star above it and rising sun behind it. under it are the letters PMH. it is from the year 2000 and I can not find it in the Catalog of world coin 1901-2000 or 2001-Date. Also ca not find anywhere on internet. I tried to get a good picture
Here's a picture of your coin, and others from Transnistria, on the Internet: http://worldcoingallery.com/countries/circ_sets/Transnistria.html
That is not the Russian symbol but used to be, until about 20 years ago, the one of the Soviet Union. Today's Transnistria uses by and large the same CoA that Moldova had during the USSR years. So yes, not only that coin has a very "Soviet" look ... Christian
Some Transnistrian coins yet... 1. 1 kopek 2000, aluminium, weight - 0,62 g., size - 15,9 mm. 2. 5 kopeks 2000, aluminium, weight - 0,7 g., size - 17,9 mm.
