Ca. 17 mm in diameter. I have searched everywhere, but can´t find it. I think it is from around mid 17 century. I would be very grateful if anybody got some information to share
I have no idea, but if I were to guess, I'd say either Indian or Arabic. Wait for an expert to come in on these.
Looks to be Arabic, dated 1152AH (4/10/1739-3/28/1740). I'm far too lazy to wade through 1200+ pages of the 18th (not 17th) Century Krause looking for it, but the right-hand picture seems to have the number "56" at the top. ???
It's a Ceylon 1/3 Rixdollar counterstamped coin. KM# 85 Host coin is a Madras Presidency 1/4 Rupee. KM#413 with a frozen date of 1172/6. Both listed in the 19th century KM. http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotviewer.php?LotID=666252&AucID=485&Lot=4982
Thank you very much! It never entered my mind it could be from that part of the world. And thanks to all the others too
