Any idea what this "gold-colored" love token might have been?

I was eyeing this auction on eBay, but decided that if someone with a history selling coins and gold jewelry listed an item as "gold-colored", it was a red flag. Coupled with no returns, I couldn't justify taking a gamble, and it looks like others were skeptical as well.

Vintage Coin Lot: Seated Liberty Half Dollar, Silver Quarters, Large Cents +

Small, fuzzy pictures show what looks like a gold sovereign with love-token carving on the reverse and a pin soldered to the obverse -- but it appears to be almost the diameter of a half dollar!

If this were an actual gold coin that had been turned into a love token, what would it be? Sovereigns are smaller in diameter than quarters, I think, and I couldn't find any reference to double or larger sovereigns with the "widowed Victoria" bust.

    So, any ideas?

I suspect a gold plated british Florin, design is right and so is the size. The florin was 28.3 mm in diameter, a half dollar is 30.6 mm.
