I'm clueless, I'm guessing it's worthless, especially since it has been drilled.

No idea what it is, since I know nothing about coins before 1800, but I can tell you it's not completely worthless. There are collectors of "holed" or drilled coins out there who would still buy it off of you.

I am not totally sure but I believe that it is or is a replica of a Spanish 8 Reale piece (Spanish Piece of Eight)! However, I could be wrong as I am not up on all of the European and Spanish coinage. I cannot tell what date it is from the pictures either but from the color and appearance, it may be replica or counterfeit as it should be Silver (although it could have toned).

It seems to me that something like this was called the Spanish Cross...but I don't know why I think so....

The date is listed on the coin in two locations as 1736. I believe it is supposed to be an 8 reales struck at the Lima mint with the assayer initial of N. But whoever made it mixed up the designs & legends found on the 8 escudos.

It is either a replica or a poorly made counterfeit.
