I collect WW2 era & earlier world paper money and have a couple of good sources but I am curious if you of you guys have any good sites you could recommend?
Heritage, Superior, the Goldbergs, Harlan Berk, Clark Smith . . . I could go on forever naming the auction houses which usually have some notes - and occasionally a lot of notes - in each of their sales. Many of them also sell coins and notes directly at their websites, in addition to their auctions.
Yeah, I just ran across this one indirectly in another thread and bookmarked it; mainly just for ID and info purposes, now, no price guide: http://aes.iupui.edu/rwise/
Coming from an .edu website, I would not expect to see any price guide or offers to sell. That domain is intended for use by schools, colleges, and other educational establishments, not commercial ones.
Ron Wise actually works for a university in the State of Indiana, which is why he has been allowed to use a .edu domain name. Aidan.
And just in case the site ever goes commercial, they already have http://www.banknoteworld.com/ ... By the way, I have always thought that this "aes" in the URL was an allusion to money, as in the Roman aes grave. Seems that in the IUPUI context it means something different. Christian
For World Banknotes I can recommend the Austrian trader Internumis http://www.internumis.at For information to Austrian papermoney visit http://www.geldschein.at There is existing a page familiar to that of Ron Wise in German language called www.banknotesworld.com. Like banknoteworld but with an additional s.
