Antony Legionary mint Denarius coins

I see on EBay, a collector with many legionary coins to sell, all nice, all 2 to 4 hundred dollars. Is that fair money for these. Or better to go to an auction by well known company.

All the coins are on nice cards with details. Certified_Collector is the gentleman.

I just took a look at that seller's MA coins. They look authentic from the images, but I believe they all are overpriced.

There are large numbers of modern forgeries of Legionary denarii, and some have even made it into well known auctions. I've given up collecting legionaries unless they have very old provenances. The problem mainly applies to EF or better condition fakes

I'd certainly avoid buying from any ebay seller who has many legionaries for sale. There's usually little risk in the Fine condition legionaries which circulated for centuries. But those are $50 coins not 2 to 4 hundred dollar coins
