Came across these today online. Although they aren't legal tender anywhere and can't be considered paper money, they sure are interesting! The designs are beautiful. Your thoughts? http://www.bankofantarctica.com/currentissues.php
As it says on their site, a substantial amount of the money collected is donated to organizations which have projects in Antarctica. I had heard this before. Do they keep a lesser share? Sure, they have expenses for printing, the paper, mailing, advertising, ect... and the doors aren't being knocked down by a stampede of potential buyers either. I don't picture this as a big money maker for the organizer. If you like to take a shot at it, start an Arctic version of the notes, it's still available for development.
I saw those before. I know that some countries also have Antarctic coins, but can't remember which ones other than Royal Australian Mint.
"Our bills are not legal tender money of Antarctica or anywhere else, but we do honor them for their face value throughout their validity period. "
