When my collection expanded to three safes, my wife gave me an ultimatum.... One more safe and I sleep outside with the dog.... Well, to be fair, one safe is dedicated to a few firearms, her jewelry and important papers so I am not entirely out of control with my coin obsession. My coins are in Tupperware boxes in one of my safes. And it is slap full. So full that if the boxes aren't perfectly arranged, the door won't close. So today I run across these Guardhouse display boxes and I can envision several beautiful displays. One for my seated collection. Another for my Colonial era collection. Gawd, they would be mouth watering beautiful in these display boxes...... Problem is.... That would require another safe. So I am posing the question. Do I bring home another safe and run the risk of getting booted to the doghouse?
Your dog is a nice animal, but is it willing to share it's sleeping quarters with you? As to the Guardhouse boxes they look nice but do not appear to offer enough storage capacity to warrant a change in sleeping arrangements.
Another thought. Could you get a new safe with larger capacity and get rid of one of your current safes.
Buy the safe, it's always easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission Edited to add; I voted for "What are you? A blithering idiot?"
All of you guys are seeing a problem when there isn’t one, the solution is simple: Buy the new safe and tell your wife it was the only way to keep her jewelry safe. Trust me, she will backtrack on the ultimatum. The new safe is for her!
You have to ask that? The answer is obvious...buy the safe. The wife can adapt but the coins are unique. Bruce
You said it yourself "If my dog doesn’t like you.... Then I probably won’t either." Does your dog like your wife? If so, then you don't have to worry about her threatening his space.
