I found this a while ago and misplaced it. I found it the other night. I have a couple of retained struck (strike) throughs that are similar to this one.

Part of the strip is missing but there is a portion still intact. The edges of the strip are not raised so it wasn't a cut.

    Opinions?

thanks for sharing the photos. some folks calls these struck thru wire , sometimes it is fragments that has been sheared off other planchets. Nice coins you have here. I sold a coin on Ebay a long time ago that was still in a mint set that had been struck thru what looked like someone's stone out of a ring. this one was perfectly in the shape of a cut stone. It brought a fairely good price. some weird things can happen at the mints.

Looks like a strike thru to me. Probably a sliver of the same metal as the coin. Thats a nice one.

    Whatever the heck that is.
I'd pay a couple bucks for it, and that's about two hundred times more than I would have paid for a certain cent in an ICG slab.
