What do you think about this bid: http://cgi.ebay.com/1994-penny-error_W0QQitemZ8340156366QQcategoryZ31373QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It is $700 for a coin that seems to be artificially modified. No wonder there are no bids (at least at the time of this posting)
Just think about it. I gave all the pennys I zinc plated to some of the guys here at work. I should have been selling them on ebay. I’d be rich……hmm
i believe it could be a real non-plated lincoln cent, i have some, i recently read that they are book valued at $100, i sell them for between $23 and $50, this price of $700 i don't think shall be realized.
Looks like a home-plated cent to me. The non-copper zinc coins tend to look less shiny in my experience and have sort of a non reflective flat finish to them. Nick
Your right I could be right, but it’s so easy to make a fake. I recommend that no one EVER buys an off metal or missing clad layer coin unseen, unless it’s certified. See my http://www.cointalk.org/thread8570-electroplating.html post.
