I bought this one recently from Jeff Rock, it's a Newman 15-Y. Some wear and a good bit of the obv. motto doesn't show, but a pretty solid piece with nice color, I think. Comments welcome from you copperologists!

A great piece of history in your hands there, ksparrow. I own a 16-N and it is a favorite in my collection. Congrats!

One of my favorite coins ever. Favorite thing about Fugio, it says mind your business! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the comments. While not rare, this is the only variety of Fugio that uses the reverse die with the recessed 8 pointed stars (bottom one worn away on this example). Wouldn't it be neat to have a modern dollar coin with the fugio design? I don' think anyone knows what a sundial is anymore, though!

Great piece of history -- I would love to own a Fugio some day. The sundial point is no doubt true -- we have all moved on to cell phones, blackberries and other things. I actually see a trend in people not wearing watches because they already have the time from their "devices". In any event, enjoy the coin and thanks for sharing.

    Hmm...not bad Kaz.
A nicely balanced fugio, and the interesting variety with Star on label to boot.
Is Jeff Rock a Colonial specialist?

Hi Eduard, glad you like it. Yes, Jeff Rock runs "Rosa Americana, Ltd" out of San Diego, and sells on eBay as numisma. I've had several pleasant transactions with him. Just reading the descriptions in his auctions is an education in itself.
