Not the best shape, I know. I don't know much about it though. Except the obvious, US 1 dollar note, series 1917. I'd better watch my step when I get up, 'cause I hope someone is about to drop some knowledge in here!
Ahhhhh the final Series for this note with Speelman/White sigs....a type set of this note in Gem would be a remarkable collection! The beauty and craftsmanship of the engraving make this one of my notes of interest from a collection standpoint. Beauty and Elagance graces paper. RickieB
i am a little more awake now then at last nights post lol The note is friedderg# F-39. the notes nickname because of the reverse is 'The Sawhorse Reverse' (as quoted by friedberg ) This was the second note of similar design, with the first being F-18. There are some small differances on the obverse, with a completely different reverse.
I honestly dont care about the condition it is a great looking note, the art work that went into it is amazing
"Another from my meager note collection " Don't put yourself down, nice note. Better than mine, since I don't have it.
Considering that I've posted all the American notes I have, I think meager is a good word. Thanks for the compliments, guys! Would anyone dare to venture an estimate of value?
I would call that note a good to low end fine note! Price ranges from $45-$65 at best. But still a nice note!! RickieB
I agree with the 'good' grade, but not the fine. The small rips along the bottom border 'look' to break the design. it could be a low end fine, but it would be hard to get that in todays market. too many bargain hunters looking for cheap prices. Dont get me wrong, low end or not.. i love the old notes!!! but i would give it a 'good' rating, nothing higher.
