Decided to pick up a denarius of Geta since I already have a denarius of his father Septimius Severus and brother Caracalla.

This is the one I won today at auction that was part of The Santa Montica Collection :)

Thanks! :) I don’t think I’ll be going any further down the line after Geta.

I’m trying to keep my collection time period during the time when the denarius was the main currency rather than later when it was replaced by the antoninianus.

Now it’s time to start working backwards from Domitian. Oh and I still need to get Titus and Nerva.

Unfortunately for me the earliest Emperors tend to cost a fortune :/.

Nice! I also was sure to get a boyish looking Geta for my collection. That way, when I tell people about how his brother had him murdered in his mother's arms, it solicits a more empathetic emotional response! :hungover:

Rumor has it that Geta and Caracalla refused to even eat meals together and their mother Julia Domna often played the role of mediator between them.

Caracalla having his centurions murder Geta in his mother’s arms really does show that Caracalla had a level of internal cruelty that would’ve made Caligula blush.

p.s. Oh yeah and I got his brother’s coin as a youngster too ^_^

    They almost look like twins!
