Simply amazing: I got an alert from Ebay, they have lowered my feedback score by removing a positive due to a buyer being kicked off from Ebay within 90 days of sign-up for some violation....... YET, they refuse to remove the negs Mark Feld and I received from a SELLER who was found shilling and using stolen pics from Heritage to sell coins he did not even have...........and kicked off Ebay for violations within 30 days " To remove feedback would be censorship, and feedback keeps the marketplace vibrant" Ebay may yet drive me to start drinking again, LMAO:headbang::headbang::headbang::computer::computer:
The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago, but they did not tell me why the other was kicked off eBay.
It's no biggie really, all feedback from NARU'd members, both pos and neg will go away for everybody on 5/20.......the new rules for feedback day I just thought it totally stoopid, LOL, still do
There was a seller a while ago called estatedoctor that I received a negative feedback from. The person had an outright counterfeit that reached over 4,000 dollars IIRC. I bid something stupid, and won the item to protect an innocent person. My account was banned, and after enough fighting my account was reinstated and they were perma-banned. Ebay did immediately remove the negative I left for Estatedoctor, however they refused to remove it from my account.
Hey, at least I got my powerseller discount, 15% on the total, AND averaged 5.0 ( above 4.95 ) out of 5 for the description stars and 4.9 on the rest !! Lovin life, I have cut my Ebay bill from $650 to $150 this month with just a site and a small decrease in sales
still think i may be the only person who has never used ebay to buy anything. i seem to be missing much drama. i know there are legit dealers on there but i still am very hesitant of using it due to the horror stories i see. zane, you reallly did such an admirable action in protecting someone you did not know. you are truly an example of a wonderful numismatist as well as a person for what you did. what is even more encouraging is to have such integrity at such a young age (at least to me) . may God bless you and your family. you are a role model for your willingness to take an action as you did. truly a credit to our hobby. arizona jack...congrats on your high rating....i hope you build a very well respected and integrity-filled numismatic enterprise. we need reputable dealers to promote our hobby. it is much better to build a loyal clientele w/ a smaller profit margin than to make a much higher percentage of money once or twice. loyal customers may come into money as well as feed you thru lean times. best wishes all....steve
Maan, ebay??? I thought ebay was perfect? Lol, makes no sense to me, but I guess it does to them. Shouldn't take you too much I guess to get another Positive Jack. Sorry to go off topic, but wasn't Estate Doctor also the Savannah Scammer, or are they two different people? I'm just curious. Phoenix
AJ, it's great to hear you internet sites are doing good. As far as ebays policies, they only uphold them when the client is a big moneymaker for them. I had a transaction with cwwolff9833byl, that I left neg feedback after they had left positive. cwwolff was allowed to retract the positive and left me a negative. Where is that written in the rules? Bruce
And they will be calulating your feedback percentage score only based on the feedbacks received in the last 12 months, so if you have a real old neg it will go away and no longer hurt your percentage. (We're going to see a lot of scummy seller feedback scores go up.) And sellers will no longer be able to leave you a negative. Even if you take three weeks to pay and then after you get the coin demand a rebate in the price or you'll leave them a neg.
