This 0.86g. piece features the Arms of the Imperial City/ with Pascal Lamb reverse.
Struck for Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I of Habsburg. In this series they even made a teeny-weenie 1/32 Dukat/ which are the smallest AV coins, along same weight as Medieval India 1/4 AV Fanam 0.08 g.!!!!! 32510l.jpg

awesome coin. just looked it up in my 17th century Krause. German States/Nurnberg KM#252, .986 gold, weight- 0.8750 g. or 0.277oz. it's a small coin 10mm X 10mm. while looking on the same page I saw what looks the same design on your coin for a 1/16th ducat that is super small 6mm X 6mm. and then a round 1 that's 1/32 ducat that's 4mm X 4mm

To the best of my knowledge a 1/32 ducat is the smallest anyone ever made. And as you just pointed out that's pretty dang small !

Now who knows what the biggest ever made was ?

And by the way panzerman, another very nice coin :)

    You'll be needing a new one of those :) - http://www.coin-currency.com/page9.html

Especially if you have any interest in Netherlands ducats, (and I may be letting the cat out of the bag here - hope not !), as my good friend and colleague Darek Jasek helped Arthur revise and edit that section.

And by the way, we are hoping to get Gold Ducats of the Netherlands Volume II out sometime in 2017 ;)
