Huh. Neat. You always have got to be sure you know what you're buying! (Always buy from a trustworthy source).
Well, at least he did the honorable thing and pulled the auction, giving credit to the person who informed him about the S-VDB. That puts the seller a level above most, IMO.
I dont know how this can be classed as a scam, the guy openly puts the coments up front and closes the auction!! I do think we need to be a bit careful about accusing people without proof. De Orc
This is why I worded my question (the one posted in the listing was mine) so carefully. I made sure that he understood that I wasn't accusing him of anything dishonest, but also that the evidence was clear that the coin wasn't what it claimed to be. I agree, he did the honorable thing, I was impressed.
I sell that 1909S-VBD to yah at a great deal.....half price!!! yah, whether it was honest ignorance or CYA, the seller did the right thing by pulling the auction.
Those 1909SVDB aren't an exact reproduction, the lettering and even Lincoln looks a bit different. Even if it was worn down to AG and AT, I would still be able to easily spot the fake. I personally think it's dumb to pay so much for a reproduction when you can just save up and get the real thing.
