Am 0 for 2 in trying to figure out if any of my coins are true doubled dies, so I am hoping I don't strike out with this one but here comes the pitch....any noted doubling on this 1972p Cent?
Taking the long, lonely walk to the showers :rollling: Thanks for the info, I will get it right eventually.
Yes, but it will be; the next time this young man asks a question, we can copy/paste his as our replies and laugh to our heart's content. OP, Did you look at the master doubling link I gave you in a past thread? If not, please do so as it should be quite helpful to you. The coin appears to be just another example of said master doubling.
I don't think he has asked any questions yet. He offers plenty of answers, advice and juvenile sarcasm, and is always wrong. He is the perfect argument for the adage "children should be seen and not heard".
I am not seeing any indications of a doubled die, I'm not even seeing any master die doubling. You should be looking for notching and separation lines. Keep up the hunt!
Oh, he asks plenty of questions and even dictates that we cannot give honest answers ( see: http://www.cointalk.com/t223458/ ). Just another example of the ever-present and childish "do as I say and not as I do" nonsense. If you darken his photos, it becomes somewhat clear if you use your imagination. While I could be wrong, I do think it likely that the OP is still confusing master with hub doubling.
I guess it is possible, I am just not picking up anything from the pictures (I guess they are too pixelated to even tell). Master die doubling and machine doubling were both extremely common this year. I agree that the OP could be confusing either one for collectable hub doubling (master die doubling is still hub doubling, just not collectable). The important thing I suppose is that we should recognize that neither of the mentioned anomalies is collectable. Here is a great thread from the LCR about the master die doubling: http://lincolncentresource.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25424
At least you knew what I meant Hopefully the OP will take a look at the link you've provided. I thank you for him/her.
Hi everyone. Thanks for all the great links and insight. I hope its not out of line to post another photo. I really do see doubling on this one, and I read through the master doubling and it doesn't fit that type. Maybe just thinking too hard on this one, I don't know...
"It" looks like it rotates counterclockwise to me. But since I don't even know what "it" is, I could be wrong
