Although I keep my collecting needs to 1865 and before. There are a couple designs of beyond that date I collect. Those are the Indian Gold (none yet), Morgan Dollars, a few commemorative designs, and the buffalo nickel. I was searching through newly listed items when I spotted this for $10 below PCGS price. The seller says it has nice colors. Can't wait to see it in hand.
Well I hope the seller is right because you bought a very common coin with a permanent ceiling. The approximate graded population for a 1938-D Buffalo in MS65 is 25000/30000. The MS65 is available for $30-$40 while the MS66 is $50-$60. Personally, I would only ever buy this issue in MS67 or above. Just to give you an idea, this is what is available for around $50. 1938-D Buffalo Nickel NGC MS66 LIGHT Rainbow Toned ~COLORFUL TONING~ COLOR Face it Tim, you are and always will be a NEWPer!
Well. The seller wont take a money order . So I'm out of luck. I don't have PayPal and have had no issue with money orders since it saves the sellers money in fees.
That's a nice nickel - looks like a fairly good strike with good luster, and I'm sure the gold toning looks much better in hand.
I was thinking the same thing when I read that. How does one say they're a collector of something they do not yet possess?
PayPal isn't hard to set up. You have to jump through a few hoops to get verified, but it just takes a few days. If you don't have PayPal you're extremely limited as to online shopping.
If you don't have a credit card or debit card that is. Your only extremely limited if you do all of your shopping on eBay.
Yes, of course. But who doesn't have a debit card? Maybe Detecto thinks you need a credit card to use PayPal. You don't - a bank card is fine.
You apparently don't know his history then. If you stick around long enough, you'll know more about Detecto and his personal life than your own family.
Even a debit card is somewhat hard to get. You can tie your PayPal account to your checking account, too. Detecto has probably blown any chance at a checking account or a debit card. Cash is no longer king.
Actually there are a lot of people that call themselves collectors - with very few coins or small collections. And yet some of them also have a vast amount of knowledge. Maybe he will study and look at them for a long time before he can actually afford one. And actually that is a good way to learn. PS - I could say I am a collector of 1793 liberty cap large cents and I hope to one day own one.
