I have tried to do my own research and I have a couple of questions, if I may. All of the pennies in this post are in 2x2s. To facilitate the answer to my questions, I have broken them down into 2 groups. Group 1 consists of the following coins. I don't find anything special about these coins. Is there something I am missing? Should I just take them out of the 2x2s and throw them in with all the other misc. junk? 1927S 1929 1940 1941 1942D 1948D 1951D 1966 (x3) 1991D Group 2 includes the following coins. These coins are in plastic flips except 2. The ones in the flips and the Indian head are turning a reddish color. Is it worth trying to sell these individually? 1964 Proof (x2) 1965 SMS 1966 SMS 1967 SMS 1968S Proof 1969S Proof 1971S Proof 1972S Proof 1973S Proof 1974S Proof 1972S (encapsulated) 1903 Indian head (loose) Thanks, Linda
Howdy Linda - As you have already found out the value of any coin is largely determined by it's grade or condition. I realize that you don't know how to grade coins and that's why you are asking the questions. But without seeing all of the coins we can't really be of much help to you. However - what you can do is this. If you are not already, sign up with Ebay - it's free. Once signed up with eBay you will be able to use the following link - CLICK HERE That link will allow you to search realizied auction prices for coins of a given date and mint mark. Waht you want to do is this - find the date and mint mark you wish, then find a coin, by looking at the pictures, that appears to be in the same condition as the coin you have. The sale price of that coin will give you an approximate value. Doing this will take a bit of effort on your part, but it will be far easier than trying to photograph all of the coins and get individual opinions on them here.
