My last Postumus coins have arrived.......
Postumus AE Double Sestertius. IMP C M CASS LATT POSTVMVS PF AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right / VICTORIA AVG, Victory walking left, captive at feet.
    Bastien 91 Trier mint
    17.8g
    29mm
I love the coin, but I'd give my right arm for the reverse to be more centrally struck:(

My goodness, you don't see Postumus double sestertii like these every day. The obverse and surfaces are incredible. It could not have been cheap!

Great portrait! Perhaps the best of Postumus I've ever seen. I have a Postumus coming, but will wait till it arrives to post it.

That's a most excellent obverse portrait on that OP coin. Congrats. I've never seen a coin that large during that era. The coins are usually thin and small.

yes they are Doug......I've never seen surfaces like this. It was covered in green hoard deposit when I got it, otherwise I would have worried about authenticity. I had to clean it as the surfaces were not visible, this was the patina under the deposits, a rich bronze colour......nothing nasty used to clean this one. I have fallen for this coin to be honest and may have to retain it in any case.........
thanks to all for your thumbs up on this coin, glad to share it with you all. I'll post the others when I have the time, just been away for three days with my son on an under 9's rugby tour....good to be back!
